Social Media Success In 2020 Tip #3

It’s Tuesday again, and it is time for Tip #3 in the Social Media Success in 2020 series. So the last few weeks, the first two tips I shared: #1 Pick one social media platform and #2 Make sure your business profile is optimized. And today, #3: Get a consistent content strategy. That is what it is all about. 

Now, the content strategy is going to be different depending on what platform you are on. For example, Facebook really prioritizes video, so having a consistent video strategy on Facebook is really important. Or having consistent posts on Instagram and making sure you are engaging in other posts on Instagram. And, of course, creating Instagram and Facebook stories. 

It’s all about having a consistent strategy. Let me ask you: How many times a week are you going to post? How many times a day? How often are you going to go and engage with your content after you’ve posted it? It’s really something to consider when you are creating content. So if you have a consistent strategy for the one social media platform that you’re focusing on, that’s what is going to help you be successful!

If you’re on a bunch of different platforms and you’re worried about posting over here and “what should I talk about over there? Or how do I create content over here?” There’s just so much to think about. All of that is stretching you too thin and that’s going to create an ineffective strategy for any of the platforms. Unless you have someone to help you and partner with you to develop that strategy and stay on top of the trends and create that content for you, of course, that is going to feel a lot easier if you have help. If you are doing it yourself, you really have to be conscious of the time you are spending on social media. I don’t want you to feel overwhelmed or stressed. That’s my thing! 

If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed about what to post or how to post or where to post and social media is taking too much of your time and you feel like you want to give up, DON’T GIVE UP! Make sure you reach out and ask for help. That is the best thing you can do for your social media: Ask for help! Whether it is quick advice (a scheduled hour) to guide you on the right path or if it is someone to partner with you over the long term to really help you develop that social media strategy, asking for help is the next best step. 

Being active on social media is one of the best things you can do for your business in terms of marketing. It is the best word to mouth advertising you can do. And it’s free! You don’t have to spend money on advertising. You can use the organic platform to show that your business is active and engage with your followers and with your audience and your ideal clients there. And you don’t have to do it alone.

That is my third tip: Make sure you create a consistent strategy on the one platform that you choose.
