As of March 27th, 2020 one-fourth of the world population is on lockdown. I CANNOT believe I’m even typing that right now!

Many of us are home, staying safe, allowing those in our healthcare industry and essential workers to keep us healthy and fed.

What a crazy time this is!

There is so much going on in the world right now it’s almost overwhelming at times.

As I’ve been glued to my phone and social (as usual) but even more than usual lately, I’ve seen so many free and discounted resources – and I wanted to bring them to you all in one place! 

We are all in this together!

You can take advantage of these resources and learn something new or brush up on some skills! The world is changing, and we are too…


TED talks You can access all TED Talks for free. They have them divided into topics and even playlists where you can just advance from one talk to the next under a theme.

Coursera This is a catalog of free courses to learn something new. It prompts you to fill out a form so they can customize your learning. 

Yale’s Most Popular Course for Free  Yale’s most popular course is called The Science of Well Being. It teaches you how to increase your happiness and change your habits. (This is SO cool!!!)

NASA has opened up its image and video library for free  You can now navigate space with easy access to NASA’s image and video library. (My 6yr old is OBSESSED with the solar system and has been since he was 3yrs old!)

Class Central  Very similar to Coursera, this gives you access to 600 online courses that have been released by 190 universities. MOOCs are Massive Open Online Courses. These are self-paced so you can start and stop anytime. 

JSTOR The academic database is offering free access to over 6,000 eBooks and 150 journals.

Creativity Tools 

Adobe is giving 2 months free of the Creative Cloud The creative industries such as photography and graphic design have been hit pretty hard by the pandemic. Here’s how to get Adobe’s Creative Cloud 2 months free. 

Open For Business This is an aggregated list of tech companies that are helping small businesses make remote working a more seamless process. These companies are offering discounts and free trials. 

For Fun

5 Gardens You Can Virtually Tour The website House Beautiful gathered 5 Gardens you can virtually tour. The list includes Claude Monet’s garden in France. 

Netflix Party  If you want to have a virtual binge-watching party with friends, Netflix created a Chrome extension that allows you to watch Netflix with your best buddies. 

NPR’s List of virtual concerts NPR created a list of virtual concerts. The list includes everything from Jazz to Pop to Americana and Folk music. (Love this so much!)

The Hidden Worlds of The National Parks  Brought to you by Google Arts and Culture, you can go on virtual tours of the United States National Parks. You are guided by actual park rangers. (We’re going to see the Hawai’i Volcanoes tomorrow!

Virtual Tours of The Worlds Famous Museums Also brought to you by the Google Arts and Culture, you can select a famous museum like the MoMA in NYC or the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C and get a tour. You need to download the app to take the tours. 

America’s Test Kitchen This typically membership-only website is giving people access to 50 free recipes.

Kitchen Quarantine Chef Massimo Bottura, of Osteria Francescana, is hosting a series of cooking classes on his Instagram account.

Milk Street Cooking School Christopher Kimball has made his cooking school available for free through April 30.

For the Kids

List of Children’s Authors Reading Virtually  If your kids are driving you batty, let children’s authors read them their own stories. Here is a comprehensive list of authors and times readings occur.  

Scholastic Kids  This free site offers books, games, and videos to entertain and educate your kiddo for hours. 

Storyline Online Another great resource for kids. Let them listen to a famous person read some of their favorite books. (We’ve loved this since we learned about it earlier last year!)

The Body Coach TV (PE with Joe)  Awesome PE videos for the kiddos and whole fam to follow! 

Audible If your kids enjoy listening to books rather than reading them, Audible is offering select children’s audiobooks for free.

For the body

Orange Theory – Free workout every day  Orange Theory posts a new free 30-minute workout every day. It works the whole body. 

Lululemon Free Yoga – Lululemon posts free yoga videos on their YouTube channel. They vary in length and difficulty. 

Peloton – Free for 90 days  If you’ve been wanting to start in the Peloton community, now is the time. They are offering free access to the Peloton app for 90 days. (This app features all types of workouts, not just cycling!)

Best HIIT YouTube Channel Sydney Cummings provides excellent High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) with an encouraging and positive attitude. 

YMCA 360 On-Demand The YMCA is offering free online fitness classes for a limited time. Anything from barre classes to Tai Chi. 

Centr This fitness and wellness app, from actor Chris Hemsworth, is offering a free six-week trial.

Meditation/Mindfulness/Mental Health 

Tap In Tap In is a 10-minute virtual group meditation. It takes place daily at 3 pm EST. 

Inner Workout Download a free workbook that encourages journaling, introspective writing prompts and guided meditation. 

Real To the People   Based out of New York City, this mental health studio is offering 3 main ways to take care of your mental health: Digital Group Salons, Digital Mental Check-ins, Digital Events.


An ongoing list of small business relief programs This is a list of business relief programs. Most of them are listed by state. It is constantly being updated.
